TJ Chism
Assistant Coach

TJ Chism enters his first season at Widener and serves as the team's pitching coach. Chism was drafted by the New York Mets in 2009, following an illustrious career at La Salle University.

Chism pitched for six years in the Mets organization, where he made it as high as Double A and was a two-time minor league all-star.


Kevin Burdick
Assistant Coach

Kevin Burdick is entering his first season as an assistant coach at Widener. Coach Burdick will primarily work with the hitters and will also serve as the mental conditioning coach for the program. Burdick spent the 2015 season as the mental skills coach at Regis University in Denver, CO while also working towards his master’s degree in sport and performance psychology from the University of Denver.


Joe Johnson
Assistant Coach

Joe Johnson is in his third season as an assistant coach for Widener.  He arrived after serving as an assistant coach at Cardinal O’Hara, helping the squad to playoff berths each season.  Johnson also served as head coach of Springfield’s Cal Ripken Baseball team.  He guided the unit in 2010 to its first state and regional championship, which placed it in the Cal Ripken World series in Wilson County, NC.

Johnson graduated Millersville University in 2007 in a B.S. in Business Management.
